Low pay . H1 issue

Hi friends ,

I am little worried and need your help
1} i graduated in april 2004 , and on OPT , i started working full time in a company at a resonably low pay around $10 / hr .
2} Later company applied for H1 and i am still wating to here about my h1 as i applied in normal processing which takes max of 4 months
3} on h1 filing documents ,my hiring date was 1 oct 2004 , but later company told me they will ACTUALLY hire me once i will get my H1 approval , till that time i have to continue working at a lower pay .
4} As soon as , i will get my i797 , i want to visit india for visa stamping ,after chekcing my pay slip ...
,they may ask me , why my pay is so low ?
WHAT CAN BE THE BEST ANSWER . WHAT I SHOULD DO TO AVOID THIS PROBLEM or IS IT A PROBLEM ?
 
The low pay should not be an issue as long as you are being paid the prevailing wage as outline by the labor dept for your kind of occupation. Also you should be paid whatever has been specified in the LCA petition which would have been filed with your H1
