lou dubbs and cnn

Even though I'm not Indian, I fully support the petition to CNN and I have signed it for what it's worth.

All of us would-be immigrants must band together to stand up for what is right and fight bigotry and hatred from those who would
try to blame all their woes on immigrant groups.

Stay the course.

Phoenixsaint,

Well said!!

I would like to reiterate my earlier statement that we(as a group, regardless of nationality) should never forget what we are going through now and exercise our franchise when we get there such that we influence the future powers that are involved in decision making about vital concerns such as legal immigration. Bigots and people who forget their immigrant roots should never come to power in the land of immigrants.

ECGC,

Well said! I do hope no one forgets what we are going through when the time comes that we are on the other side of the fence!

Lou dobbs or Lou dumbs, the asshole tries to make
it sound as if Indians are usurping americans jobs, never
tries to see that greedy american corporations (or
corporations with sound financial sense, depending upon
point of view) are transferring work oversees.

For now it is better to ignore this POS.

I totally agree with the view here, most of the Americans are dumb hence they need us. Anyway Lou is fearing that maybe one of these days his job would be outsourced too... I am sure we have thousands of better anchors than Lou a**h**e

Like justchecking said, better ignore this. Yesterday (12/03) at 4:00pm in KGO 810AM anchor Pete Willsone show discusses the same thing for 3 hours. Jobs are taken away by India (well! there were some other country names just for name sake and to make discussion more general). Some one in the program with 15 yesrs IT exp. making a web site with a list of companies doing business with india and advising americans not to buy their products. To me it is joke. America is driven by free market. If you go back 20yr when manufacturing jobs taken away by china people did the same thing and later forgot. Same thing happening in IT. My advise is simple ignore this.

So why are we going after Mr. Lou Dobbs - isn't it every American's right to know what the actual cost of sending jobs off-shore is short-term and long-term - and what is the reason that the guy next door had been out of job for last 1 year. I am afraid we are doing this petition & stuff just to silence anyone who dare question moving American (our, yours and mine) jobs to other countries.

lets' all behave like grown ups - we are Americans and we must not lose sight of the fact that our kids and their kids and many generation will live in America - else we would not be here on "IMMIGRATION.COM".

You have the right to disagree with me - but please do not try to "silence anyone who dare question"your opinion.

Cheers,

If that's the case, we have every right to question what Coke or Pepsi or Macdonald is doing in India... Nobody is questioning his right to diiscuss but to malign is not right. Its not only cheap labor but expertise ( which is not being potrayed by Lou Doubbs), when all you talkn is cheap labor people get incensed, if you add the expertise part you get the true picture. Believe me 5 years down the line India will be selling expertise and not price.

America taught the world capitalism and should live by it.

Do you know that India is among six countries that can launch satellites? Do you know that Hero honda sells the max 2 wheelers anywhere in the world? Do you know that the average age of an Indian IT professional is 24 years? These 24 year olds have transformed India into a Global giant making all of us proud. I can go on and on. The average 24 year old American is doing what?? .Our foreign exchange reserves are at an all-time high-$82 billion. We have
announced that we will not be taking aid from a string of countries. In a word, what committees upon committees with their piles of
recommendations would not have achieved, being actually exposed to actual
competition has.

* We are giving aid to 10 or 11 countries.
* We are pre-paying our debt.
* We have just " loaned" $300 million to the IMF!

How distant the days when we used to wait anxiously for the announcement
about what the Aid India Club meeting in Paris had decided to give us.

But there is the other side-equally telling. Why is it that so few among us
know even the elementary facts about these successes? Why is it that so
much of public, specifically political, discourse, when it is not whining
is just wailing? So let him paint the right picture and nobody will object

So we finally get somebody who actually likes to defend Lou Dumbs, If your logic is true, why not Lou dumbs probes American MNCs who outsource jobs to places where it can be done more
efficiently and cheaper. Why Mr Lou dumbs is trying to make
it sound as if Indians are hatching a conspiracy to take american
jobs. You may be american but I am not, so obviously
I get pissed off when I see big fat people skating in ice
with large cone of Ben & Jerry complaining about their
povery and loss of jobs to India. As if being poor is something
that only some parts of the world has to live with. Well my
message to these people is: welcome to real world. You
were preaching free markets and captitalism to the rest
of the world , now live by your words. Don't ask government
to raise artificial barriers to save your jobs.

What ticked me off about Lou "the toilet" Dobbs is that he seemed to imply that immigration to the US from non-European countries is not good for this country. That kinda attitude from a media person is unacceptable. He's acting like his fox counterpart, Bill "the jack ass" O'Reilly.

I agree with ECGC.

This country has a long history of preference (overt or subtle) for white European Christian immigrants. For example, the Chinese Exclusion Act, and many other systematic practices and policies to control the "makeup" of the population.

It's always pathetic and disgusting to see it cloaked in "economic" or "patriotic" language, where in fact, it is disguised discrimination and racism OR lazy people just wanting a free ride but blaming immigrants in general for their lot.

For all the people who think Lou is just against outsourcing -here is the evidence. His program's transcript. You can see how Lou broadcasts a person "Daneil Soong" was receiving salary of 160K and was replaced by a "cheap" H1 worker. "Daniel Soong" himself later told CNN that he was receiving only 60K - which as you know is much lesser than what most H1s make!! But by broadcasting this outrageous exagerration, Lou succeeded in creating hate to H1 workers and starting the entire debate (as you can see this program was bradcast in May 2003 -when other networks really hadn't caught on to this). I didn't see Lou making any apologies for it, did you?
Lou further goes on in the program that the fact that "H1-B visa employees are taking jobs from Americans" as a "no-brainer"
Here is the link
http://www.zazona.com/ShameH1B/Library/Archives/CNNMoneyline.htm

With that I rest my case.

It is true that H-1B holders have taken jobs from some Americans. But it is untrue that they are paid lesser than American citizen workers. And ALL AMERICAN CITIZENS (except the native americans)ARE IMMIGRANTS OR THEIR DESCENDANTS!!The ones that lost their jobs are the less talented, less qualified or to be blunt, "stupid losers". And that's what losers do- whine!! Lou "the toilet" dobbs and his likes should wake up and realize that. Afterall, in the jungle of life, the fit survive! With that, I rest my case.

H1-b extension in 7 days!

Just received my h1-b extension in 7 days (premium processing, of couse).
I wish, BCIS/DOL had the same kind of efficiency in GC/Labor-cert processing. It's all calculated bureaucracy.

Labor union for H1B

Hi,
I was wondering if Labor Unions of H1B are banned in this country ? Idon't know tihe details ..can any one check out on this ..

I f all h1B's just take massive leave for only one week ..to express the greviences ...this will be the only way to voice our demands ....only when it amounts to $$$$ Uncle SAM will wake up. One can imagine how effect one week of co-ordinated shutdown (leave) will bring ..but i am not sure about the legalityies of all these..
any suggestions ??
