lou dubbs and cnn

I agree with the contents of the petition and i think it is really important that we make an effort to let the naive locals understand that venting won't bring them their jobs back which happened to have got flipping few tech books while flipping burgers.

It was a bubble in which every one flourished and when it burst they are whining on losing it and blame the aliens for that. Little do they know that even if the corporate america gives jobs only to them, they won't be able to stick around for a while. They complain on low salaries or work for few dollars, morons, i work hand in hand with some very well qualified locals who get as much as i do. If we both are almost making the same $s where the hell is this silly talk coming from about low $s and salaries.

But, i would like to agree with sairam4599's post too which is and will impact all the folks trying to settle in US irrespective of locals or aliens. I currently in the midst of a situation where i am asked to join the outsourced company or train their guy and lose the job. I am still on H1B and am in I-485 stage. If this is the situation that is happening to me what could that mean to the locals.

Bottom line, i think, is first get the awareness that aliens are not CHEAP LABOR. (hey, we drive luxurious cars and i can say 99% of us don't have credit history problems!!! how can we afford all that in this america if we are cheap labor. Beats me!!! and that we contribute close to 500 million dollars in social security and other taxes to america every year. If we work for less how can we build that huge amount per year and it can go on....).

I will sign the petition...just tell me how?

CNN has always had a bloody conservative editorial staff, take a look at all reporting about terrorist attacks on Indian soil. They NEVER call them terrorists, always freedom fighters. MORONS! Sure I will sign the petition.

tombaan,

A couple of points about your post:
1. Technically, this is offtopic for this forum, and it would be nice if you attached SPAM to the header of your thread to keep people who are not interested from saving time as a matter of courtesy.
2. It would also be nice if you edited your original post to contain more data about the issue, just to save readers the effort of shifting through the original thread for the conclusion.

Kadamtal,
You are not exactly right.

There are immigrants at every stage of American jobs.

1) Highly qualified ...who have salaries on par with everybody
else. Drive Mercedes and Lexus.
2) Well Qualified ...who have accords , toyota camrys and
are well paid.
3) Qualified...Just about everyone with their civics and corollas.
Needless to say lot of Indians and another immigrants do fall
in the 3rd group. They handle the bulk of American business.
These people mostly work as contractors through body shopping
companies. Everybody knows that these days body shopping
companies are in trouble. They cut cost by employing cheap
labour. For Indians it matters to stay in America. And we are
willing to stay here cheap.

Body shopping companies do cause loss of American jobs because
they can do it very cheap and provide a huge alternative to
companies to employ contractors which everybody knows is
beneficial to the companies as contractors don't need benefits.

So we are still taking away jobs which Americans would be doing
for higher salary. Let us not kid us on that issue.

The issue is everybody is an immigrant and it does not matter
what I drive and how much I get paid. Americans are still going
to look at me as cheapskate. So just live with the fact and laugh
all the way to bank if you earn a lot of money. Eventually these
people will learn that we are a very rich and influential society.
Things never happen so easily in a world which is not used
to immigrant power.

And let us not kid ourselves that we are not taking over their
jobs. We did took over significant part of silicon valley and we
are doing a lot of damage to the valley by moving jobs to India.

Lou Dobbs and other Americans have a genuine cause to worry.
And they are not going to understand rich immigrant and poor
immigrants or the fact that we pay huge taxes.

So lets be cool and stay cool and steer ourself out of any of this
discussion.

As for Lou Dobbs , When a elephant walks through the woods
there are many dogs who bark. The elephant has no time to
crush all of them so it just walks through and let those barking
dogs be. All they can do is bark.

I see the solution, buy Ford or Buick, dude, and L. Dobbs will be happy :D

joker%,

If you think ignorance is bliss...i don't have much to say...

Few things though, body shopper and our current status of pathetic pays are different.

When a company hires you to do consulting job they are actually paying a much higher rate and those rates are governed by laws of labor and their HR policies. What ultimately you are making is a different issue...

WE are not moving jobs to India, but its the Corporate America that is. You are in no way responsible for outsourcing.
It would have happened anyway, even if the number of immigrants in this country is very less. And there is noway anyone can stop this. People who actually make the outsourcing decisions are not Indians/imigrants they are just Americans who want to save $ and donot care for their fellow americans. Thats the capital world for you. H/W jobs moved to Taiwan, nobody could do anything, now S/W ones will move to India. Not that Taiwanese came to US, to take the h/w jobs away. There will always be a cheaper place to get things done.

why flows?

yes, they flow.It is by simple economic logic and sustainability at economic level.
Why blame a particular section/segemnt?
If it is not India providing the economically viable product say X country provides, the flow would have been to X country.
Why the great guy? hasn't question himself why the flow is now?
Not before?
Answer may be simple--now it is to be done, to balance economical competetiveness, to be competetive in the present situation and for one's product to be competetive.
In the globalized economy scenarios, opposing pre-era air tight compartments and protections, what price any body define that ruled.Principle/monopolies once prevalent in various hemispeheres is clearly outdated.Tycoons know about it.
So,whatever the flow it is not grabbed, basically. The flow is voluntary and with will in flower's interest only.
Would really somebody can be convinced that this flow is
due to a favor to be done/or forced by a section of grabbers?
So this is clearly the otherway of the facts.
It seems Blair comments on this issue reported by media
was not against ,when flows were questioned by those people.
Ealier there were lot of outstanding 'Balance of trade' now it is the time (Natural phenomina occuring) .
Shallow type wooing doen't count on long run.

Well said. This is the fact. It is not indians who come here
and decide to outsource jobs to India. May be people
like lou dobbs should see their own greed before making a hue
and cry about outsouring ..

Work towards speedy approvals!

And while you are reading this thread or signing the petition, don't forget to send a fax to your Congressman with the petition to work towards speedier approvals. For further information please click on the link in my signature.

apporaching 300 after just 1 day

uys we are fast approaching 300 mark on signature!!

We were No 15 yesterday in activity among the thousands and thousands of active petition in the site.... Thanks Guys!!!

It might get tough for us to maintain the momentum because of the oncoming Thanksgiving holidays. But if each one of us can rope in just 4 other friends/family members we could ealisy reach 1000 soon. Also please try to popularize it among Indian-American organizations.

Would this petition have any effect? Well it would at least show CNN that a large number of people are united and would not tolerate such shows. And CNN surely would not like to lose viewership among one of the fastest growing and one of the richest immigrant community (Indian-Americans) and one of the fastest growing markets (India).
At least they would sit up and take note

The petition URL is http://www.petitiononline.com/amind123/petition.html

Everyone, this is a very important petition. DO PLEASE SIGN IT. Also, please forward the link to your friends and family so that they can sign it.

If each one of us fowards this petition to at least 10 people we know and start a chain reaction, we will have thousands of signatures in a matter of days!!

I have been listening to Lou Dobbs' rhetoric for quite some time now. Everyday, he whines about the 'Exporting of America' and other such crap. A couple of weeks ago, he said some crap about how foreign students come into the US and enroll in Gradute school and how this prevents americans to enroll for higher education! Absolute bullshit!!!! I remember that when I was in graduate school, none of the American bachelor's students wanted to do a MS because they were more interested in getting a job and start earning so that they could repay the loans that they took for getting an undergraduate eduation. But ofcourse, Lou Dobbs did not even once talk about this as a posssible reason why Americans do not want to pursue higher education.

Also, he is a time tested LOOSER and hypocrite.. He joined a dot com during the dot com boom about 3 years ago to make a quick buck. But the company he joined went down the toilet, he quickly came running back to CNN. I am sure he did not talk about loss of jobs to foreigners at that time even though his own start-up must have employed Indians!!

Please sign the petition so that we can shut his trap.

This petition is at the 600 mark we need to cross 1000 atleast to make an impact. I request everyone to sign it. It takes only a few seconds to do it.

We can make a difference if we want.

The petition is truely past the MIMIMUM (1K)....

let us now aim for the MAXIMUM (5-10K)
The petition will probably be up for another 20 days or so for us to gather the maximum signatures and send a strong message to CNN.

I have signed the petition too. But do we really need to send petitions to media that we know are not very favorable to our cause? Shouldn't we just focus on congress people and BCIS authorities? I think we can avoid unwanted attention from general public that is already unhappy about lost jobs, sinking economy and increasing immigration. Kashmir's projects seem to be right on the dot.

PS: "lou" dobbs sounds like the name of a toilet and probably thinks like a toilet too!! Why do we need his approval to immigrate to the "land of immigrants"?

Sorry to bump this thread.....

.... but wanted to infom we are closing in on 2000 signatures and I just got an e-mail from indicause.com saying they would look into this petition to examine how they can help. (Indiacause as you might be knowing has led succesful campigns in the past including a few against CNN)

So keep up the signing effort.

p.s. ECGC we are not seeking Lou's approval. We are just expressing our greivance. Like you suggested, we could also send this petition to Congressmen and senators (at least to the pro-India senators like Hillary Clinton)

I didn't mean that literally...just a metaphor...anyways, I know that we are sending the petitions to the right people (also) and I appreciate all the work of the portal members who initiated this move.

Onward!!
