Hey guys, have you ever run the greenland script and sit and watch for the changes? I am not kidding, as many times I run it, today is the first time that there are so many changes on the status, you won't believe your eyes. Of couse I highlighted my case number and it jump right through it without a blink (boohoo :( ) but hey, at least it is moving, as they promised ...

Compare the result of Sep 26 to Oct 3, BCIS sent 16 RFE.
My question is that why much more percent of the people whose previous status is "FP sent/Recvd" get RFE than those whose status is "Received" get RFE?

Is this a pattern? Can anybody explain this?

Or should we spawn another thread for those who have not receive RFE yet to vote what their message is? "FP sent", "FP Recvd" or "Received". Because I suspect our EB are more belong to "FP sent/Recvd" than "Received"

why FP Sent/Recvd......

I will give you my example, mine and my wife's case status is "FP Rcvd" and my son's status is "Recieved". If we get RFE two cases from "FP Recieved" and one case from "Recieved" status will change status to RFE.

I think that will explains why many cases from "FP Recieved/Sent" gets changed to RFE than "Recieved" status.

But there are some cases where INS never updates their status from "Recieved" even after finger printing. I think it is an exceptional scenario than usual.

This is my guess. :)

How the 272 approved cases were processed

I have taken the dates in excel and put some counts as when these 272 cases were approved

May-02 1
Jul-02 1
Oct-02 13
Nov-02 3
Jan-03 6
Feb-03 6
Mar-03 12
Apr-03 33
May-03 69
Jun-03 45
Jul-03 38
Aug-03 42
Sep-03 3
========
Total 272

1st approval : 5th May-2002 (Most lucky .. just 3 months and 5 days)
Last Approval : 17thSep -2003

What else can be derived
1) There is no such definate date when the case can be said.. will be approved. The Approvals are distributed over a period of time
from 5th May-2002 to 17th Sep-2003 (Ofcourse apporvals will keep on continung)
2) Very few approvals after Aug-19-2003 (only 3 in Sep). This says that a brake was applied in process Employement based categories (when the religous workers, etc were being processed)
3) No approvals after 17th Sep-2003 (Was is it because of Fiscal Year end?)

I do remember that I've read somebody's post regarding to a lady in CA who bump into an INS officer at a social party. One of the insides from that post that I remembered is that the officers do look at the expiration date of FP. If they see somebody's FP is about to expired, to avoid sending out the 2nd FP request, they expedite the case for process. That's one explanation why many later cases got processed vs older cases still sitting around untouched.

Believe it or not, after 22 month of same old message, the case status tells me this morning that they sent out the RFE yesterday. I am in process of contact my attorney for the details. I will keep everybody updated.

RD 1/28/02
ND 1/30/02
FP 3/27/03
EAD 5/16/03
AP till Feb 04 (new one is in process), I've used my AP traveled
internationally numerous times.
RFE 10/23/03 (no details yet)

no changing job, no 2nd FP (yet),

It a request not to run that script too many times. It's going to put everyone in trouble if BCIS finds out. We don't even know if it legal to check on other cases, that too repeatedly. Every applicant should observe some restraint here. Just a suggestion.

I don't think anything will happen if we check the case status through the Greenland Script ......

Instead of crying ....FOUL.... on us.... USCIS can setup extra security like a password or SSN or some other means to restrict the applicants to check their application status only....

With its present form .... it doesn't seem wrong to me to run these scripts and check out the status of application numbers other than ours .....

They deliberately left the door open for abuse so they can slap a denial of service attack charge on the ones they do not like and ship them out to Guantanamo. The Military tribunals are ready....:D

Gcard2002,

1) I am checking my own everyday and I am not running this script too many times, thank you very much.

2) Please go find out if it is legal to check on other cases 'cause I am helping my friends who don’t have access to computer to check their cases every day too. I don't see anything wrong with it and please don't use this to intimidating me or others before you are sure about it.

3) I suggested a while back to put together a pool and have one person in charge of running script every once a while for a specific day to avoid too many ppl running same day the same time. That's how FunkyJunky started "greenland report summary" thread. I believe this is more reasonable request/solution than "request" people don't do it. I know I am not going to answer your "request", I know hundreds of others don't give a c&$*p about your request. (not trying to be mean, but realistic). I understand your concern and I saw your post a few days ago with same "request". I don't know who you are, but I am sorry that if I offended you by ignoring your "request" and I am going to continue to ignore it till there is a better solution.
USCIS do put a 1000 hit per day per IP address limitation on for the on line status check. I do believe that there is a reason for them to do 1000 instead of 1. And I do believe as long as they permit 1000 inquiries per day, the script won't die down. Sorry!!!

Note to FunkyJunky -

Here is another run, please update the summary. Thanks.
