Lost passport

Hey,

I was wondering if any of you did not have all your passports with you when you interviewed? I lost one of mine and am a bit worried about it. I have the police report but I'm not sure they'll except that. Any advice?

Thanks.

I do have a current passport (although it took forver to get). The one that is lost was the one I got after I married and changed my name. I got it in 2007 and lost it that same year . There are two trips to South Africa that would have been documented in it.

I don't think there is a problem. It is very typical during the interview the
IO says show me your passport then you place all you passport on the
desk then the IO never bother to touch them. So passports are not really required
documents in the process. The IO only need to look at them when your stay in USA
is on the border for the purpose of continuous and physical presence in USA

They don't care about passports that expired more than 5 years ago. Do you have your current passport? Or was it an older one that got lost?

Good. Then show your current passport. If they ask for older ones, show the older ones you have. If they ask about the gap in 2007 between passports, tell them that one got lost and your current passport is the replacement.

But it is unlikely they will go into that level of questioning, unless you have several long trips that would put your physical presence or continuous residence in doubt.
