Lost passport visa everything

Guys,
A cousin of mine had a house break in (in NJ). Unfortunately the guy took away the passport visa and all the documents ( marksheets etc). Can somebody guide as to how he should proceed to get back everything.

Any helpful information is welcome.

Note - the thief only took the documents and left all the valuables (gold money etc etc ) untouched. This type of thing is on rise in NJ area. So NJ guys be alert. Make sure you lock both the knobs of your apartment

he is not that lucky....unfortunately his badluck is continuing for last one year....first he filed his labour two years back and his lawyer filed his labour under a wrong advertisement. So by the time his labour was touched, he got an RFE and his lawyer told that he is screwed up. He joined another company now and was about to file his new labour and this happened.
