LOST PASSPORT - Please help me

Hi Everyone,

I lost my passort and I-20's. I am currently on F-1 visa. I went through the indian consulate web site and knew how to get a duplicate passport. But, they did not give any info about getting the visa stamp in my passport. If you have any information, please help me.

Also, if anyone has lost their passport and gone throught the procedure, please advice me.

I appreciate your time. Any advice would be of great help to me..

The only thing you can do is to go to India to get the VISA stamped again. I did that and it worked fine for me.

Thanks for the reply. I have a question. How did you get the visa stamping on your new passport; I mean, did you mention the US consulate (by means of a letter) that you lost your passport and hence you need visa stamping on the new one OR did you apply for visa just like nothing happened?
Since, you have gone through this thing, you can understand how worried we are. Please help me with this issue. I wonder, if I can be in email contact with you. I appreciate your time and concern. Thanks a lot.
