Hello,

7 months ago, I lost all my original documents. My got new US passport but I still have not applied for replacement of Naturalization certificate. Even my Indian Birth Certificate was stolen but I have a scanned copy.

Should I apply for these documents first and get the originals in hand and then apply for parents GC? or should I apply for GC of parents along with applying for originals of Birth Certificate and Naturalization Certificate?

Can I apply for replacement of Birth Certificate here in Washington DC with indian consulate or I have to go to my home state in india?

Can someone direct me to some good resource where i can find all the documents I need to sponsor my parents?

With a US passport, you don't need the naturalization certificate to file for your parents.

But you will need the birth certificate, and your parents' marriage certificate (if they were married). USCIS doesn't accept birth certificates issued by the Indian consulate. Are your parents still in India? If yes, they should be able to obtain a re-issued birth certificate for you.

When submitting the I-130 you can send the copy of the birth certificate you already have. But you'll need an original for their interview.

What part of I-130 indicate requirement of parent's birth certificate ?

Thank you. My parents are Indian Citizen but visiting New Zealand till oct 2013. Should I wait for them to go back to india before applying for their GC or I can apply and have their interview done in New Zealand? They have US visitor valid VISA also and they can travel to US for Interview.

File the I-130 now using the copy of the birth certificate which you already have. The consular interview won't happen before October this year, and most likely won't happen until sometime next year, so they'll have time to get your re-issued birth certificate after returning to India.

The interview will be in India at a US consulate, since they're not already in the US to file for adjustment of status.
