My wife initially entered on H4 stamped in India from Company A, which expired in May. In Apr this year I changed to Company B and we did apply for her H4 through company B, which was approved till aug 2005 (my h1 6 year limit). We got the approval notice from BCIS (courtesy copy). But the attorney did not send the Original Approval notice (and I94). Now, I am applying for my 7th year extension for both of us and I keep asking about my wife's previous H4 document and they never respond to emails or voice mails. I am not even sure whether they applied for my H1 extension.
Q:
What issues do you think I will face and what to do about it (apart from changing attorneys). I did read in this forum, we can apply for duplicate and it takes 3-6 months!!, but can my wife stay in the US till we get the duplicate and file for her H4? I did send the courtesy copy to the attorney, will they apply for extn with that? Going forward, do I need the Origial Approval Notice for H4 (Apr-Aug 2005)? Because I think for each time we apply for H1, we need to submit all prior H1 approval, is it the same for H4?
