Lost I-129 and I-797 forms for L1 VISA

Hi,

I am an Indian. I got the L1 VISA on Mar-2008 and it is valid till Mar-2011. I have been to US with this VISA for 8 months during 2008. After returning from US, i have lost my I-129 and I-797 forms. I have the chance to goto US with same VISA but i donot have I-129 and I-797 forms. I have copies of I-129 and I-797 forms.

I have re-appered at Chennai consulate for the replacement of I-129 and I-797 forms but the officer
didnot sign the copies as he asked me to re-appear with blank copies of I-129 and I-797 forms (In the xerox copy of my forms, he wrote: "VISA is genuine. He has the opportunity to bring back blank copies of I-129 and I-797 forms").

When i asked my employer (who prepared my petition), he is saying that blank copies of I-129 and I-797 forms cannot be prepared and only way to get the VISA is going for the fresh petition but i cannot go for the fresh petition
until my current VISA is valid.
Now, I cannot travel with my VISA (even though i hold valid VISA) and i cannot go for the new petition until my VISA expires.

Please advise me on this issue to proceed further.

Anderson's advice is correct. You'll want to try with the second copy of the I129 at the chennai consulate.
