Lost H1 Docs

I got my H1 approved in Jan 2006 and INS send me the H1 approval docs. But recently I found that I have lost them when I am planning to get swtmap from Canada.

What should I do in this case ? I have no records what was my H1 number or what form number it was.

I want to knw othe procedure to get duplicate copy of my H1 approval letter or what ever they send you.

----INS is no more. and how can USCIS send the H1 to you?? it is sent to lawyer or employer who filed H1 for you. check with your employer or lawyer and lawyer can get you duplicate h1 approval from USCIS.

Though lawyer filed my H1 but the documents were sent directlt to me by USCIS.

Could some one please let me know the procedure/fees for getting duplicate copy of H1. My company is not gonna pay for that duplicate and lawyer is asking 700 $ so I am wondering if I could do it myself. I guess I would just have to fill some forms as its already approved.

Please help
