Lost H1-B. Please Help!!!!!

I lost my I-797(H1b along with I-94).My current H1b visa expires in 09/2005. I was planning on visiting india(11/2005-12/2005) and get H1b visa . I do have a copy of the I-797. Can I get a visa with only a copy of my 1-797? I have not applied for a duplicate yet. Some posts on immigration forums say that it takes about 1.5 to 2 years to get a duplicate, but I cannot wait for 2 years to go to india. What are my choices? Please,please advise.

Apply you will get it within 180 days.

I am planning to go to india during November. So do I have to wait untill I get a duplicate, or can I get a visa( with the copy) as long as I apply for a duplicate?

You will not get your visa with a copy of H1 approval notice.
