So here's my story. I lost my green card about two years ago and I filed for a replacement right away. I got a letter saying that they recieved the biometrics fee and it is now being processed. Problem is, i still haven't got any notice from them to this day. They received the payment on September 6, 2006. Am i the only one having this problem? Can anyone give me advice/suggestions? It'll be much appreciated.

2 years?? Sounds like it got lost in the mail or something. Have you called USCIS recently to get an update?

You should definitely chase them up. I remember when we were first admitted to LPR status, that the letter said to follow up with them if we had not received the card within 12 months. And that was back when they were switching over to the new cards and they had a backlog / were very slow. It sounds like either they lost your request, or mailed the card out and it was not delivered.

Hello,

My wallest was stolen along with my green card.
I need to know what steps to follow to get the replacement card.

Any advice is useful.

Thanks

Call USCIS or visit your local DO

You need to file Form I-90:

http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/us...nnel=db029c7755cb9010VgnVCM10000045f3d6a1RCRD

If the link above doesn't work, go the www.uscis.gov and look for it under immigration forms. I replaced my greencard in October or November 2006 and I got a new card in about two months from sending in the application (fingerprint notice came very quickly). Keep in mind though that if you need to leave after you get the NOA (receipt of application letter) but before you get the card, you have to get travel documents from USCIS to reenter the country. (I made the mistake of thinking the NOA, photocopy of my old card and police report about my stolen card was enough. On a business trip to Canada, US immigration hassled me, but did eventually let me back in after sitting around for 45 minutes.)

That definitely sounds wrong. I got my replacement card in about two months. Presumably you have the application number (or your A#)? Call the customer service number 1-800-375-5283 and ask the agent. If they don't know or are giving you a hard time, ask/demand to speak to an immigration officer. They have greater access to the system. (To get a live agent, the menu option series 1 2 2 6 2 4 works for me.) It sounds like you never got your fingerprint notice...maybe a US mail or biometrics department problem? Good luck.
