Lost form I797A

My husband holds H1b1 visa, and last year I transferred my status from F1 to H4. Unfortunately, I lost the I797A form that came from INS when H4 was approved. I still have a copy of it though. I wonder:

1. Is it necessary for me to get a replacement of the I797A?
2. How? (I filed form I-102 several months ago, but recently got a denial from INS)
