Lost and hopeless

Hi
I am going to start by explaining the order of sequence. Well I have been approve for my citizenship and I was told it should go okay, but now the stage has been switched. What I did back when I was in college was register to vote even though I knew I was going to get rejected and I was trying to prove my theory(Bush, Keri ordeal). And it was proven correct. I did get the rejection letter in the mail about 2 years ago. Now in order to complete my citizenship to take my Oath. They want me to send them the rejection letter and application, which I can not find for dear life. I went to the cityhall and to the registrar of voters and they told me they do not keep acheives. I had them write me a letter saying they do not keep acheives of the rejection letter and that I am not a registered voter in my town's database. I have a feeling that the letter is not enough for USCIS. And I am wondering if I should just register again to get the rejection letter and application. Then I am thinking, they will ask me why I registered again and I am going to have a hard time explaining the situation. I was told to call my Congressman if the situation goes downward.

Lost and hopeless and seeking the light.

did you claim to be a citizen ?

most state voter registration required you to declare under oath that you are a citizen. you would be commiting perjury if you falsely claimed to be citizen. CIS might be interested to see if you did claim to be a citizen when you were not.
Did you claim to be a citizen when you filed your voter registeration form ?

I wouldn't try register again to get the rejection letter if i were you. that would be, simply put, stupid. It is hard enough to explain to CIS why you tried to register to vote once, to try explain and convince them why you try to do it twice would be nothing short of miracle.

If you did not claim to be a citizen in registration form - I would sent the letter you got from your town and write a letter explaining that you never claimed to be a citizen on registration form.

If you did claim to be citizen then I would hire an attorney.

Well, under oath, I told the truth, and now the truth is hurting me.
I register and on the side, I claim not US citizen and about a month later
I recieved a letter saying rejected along with the application. And thats the letter the USCIS is looking for and I told them I can not find it. Then they say it should not matter and now they want to see the letter after I told them I lost it. So now, I figure I go to the town office and they say they do not keep records and the lady there even check the town database and they said I was not even on the registered voter list. She wanted me to register again and get the rejection letter and I said no, that would make matters worst. I ask if she could write a letter saying that I was not registered at all. But I never try to vote or do the likes. So, I will write my 5th to USCIS with this letter explaining I lost my letter and that the town does not keep an archieve. What bother me is that I passed the interview and finger print and name check, I even told why I did it(darn political science class, this happen when i was in college).
Curiosity kills the cat.

Thanks for the help

I am confused. You tried to register to vote as a non-U.S. citizen and obviously your registration was rejected. So you have never registered to vote successfully. On the N-400 form, you should have answered No to the question "Have you ever registered to vote ...".

I did answer no in th n-400 form.
I never did anything out of context.
I have never registered to vote successfully(I only did this once and I knew the outcome).
All I had to do was keep my mouth shut.
I figure I would be lying under oath and told them what I did.

This is part of my letter:
"I explained to the Immigration Officer, who asked if I had the letter. I explained to her that I no longer have this letter and that it was lost over the 2 years before I applied for my citizenship. She said it should be okay, but she could not give me a definite answer. And she asked me why I did that. I explained that during my time in college, I was watching the news on TV during the Presidential Election of 2004 about illegal immigrants voting with only their driver’s license. I wanted to prove my point that if I did register correctly, then I would receive letter of rejection and explaining why I was rejected. And that’s what happened."

I do not even know why in the world did I do that.
So curiosity kills the cat.
