Hi,

I have been waiting for long long time. Called IIO a couple of times after last AVM update (REF received) but no useful info was given. Case not assigned yet. What else I can do to get INS working on my case? Thanks in advance!!

Dude, did you also file for an outstanding researcher green card?
If so, cool, I have a buddy to talk to.

Strictly speaking your case has been assigned to an officer
as you got an RFE. (What was it for?). Once your RFE response
enters the system they will have to see if the evidence you
supplied meets his/her need.

Please make sure the INS has received your RFE response by taking
to an IIO. Regarding passing the time, do constructive things to
pass the time. I\'m writing additional papers, writing a book, reading
papers, text books etc.

Afer waiting for an INS approval, I\'ve gone back and kicked myself
because I wasted so much time.

Did you use FedEx?

I\'m just curious to know whether you used US postal service or FedEx for RFE response. I\'m waiting INS to update my RFE response.
Thanks

Hi Bongo and all,

Thanks for response! I am like you doing best in my research while waiting for the approval. However frustrated, no way I am going to stop my work. But I do want this unnecessary waiting to end.

BTW, my atternoy used FedEx for the reply.

what if there is no RFE & yet the case is stuck?

I wonder what happens in cases like mine- called IIO who said fingerprints are fine, which were done 9months ago. EB2(RIR) RD Sept 2000. IIO asked for A# so I assume fp results are still in system 2. No RFE, no further info, what do I do beside panicking?

I\'ve dealt with the INS alot (unfortunately).
They work in batches. Right now there is a batch of
I485 approvals going through. Hopefully we will be part
of it. If not, we have to forget about our applications
for a while and wait for the next batch to start.

BTW, have you heard of anyone with an OR petition using
the 180 day rule to change jobs into Academia. This is what
I am doing. I currently have a job in High Tech and am
moving into Academia (Professor position). My attorney and
I believe that the new job and same job are similar enough,
but it would be good to know if someone has already done
it.

Bongo

I have not heard any OR who has transferred to Univ while GC is
pending. I do believe 180 rule can help you to do this transfer
and I can use that rule to do my job switch too if I want. HOwever,
I don\'t want to switch job now or in the coming 12 months. I just
want to put this headache behind me so I have a layer of security
and extra freedom.

One difference in my case: I am not 100% sure that my attorney
is on my side. My company pays them and I can smell that they
don\'t want me to leave. I am afraid that they may do things to
slow down my app on purpose because I encountered blocks in every
stages of my application.

Good luck to you, Bongo! and good luck to me too!
