Greetings everyone!

I hope it's OK to make an intro thread here - I've seen them before but not often and as there's no intro sub forum I'm hoping it doesn't break any rules.

I've been lurking around for about 6 months and finally decided to join.

I've been enjoying reading all the winners stories from Australia in particular, it gives me a lot of hope.

I have entered this year for the first time myself as I have just become eligible. (I didn't finish high school but have now been working for over two years in a qualifying occupation. My job falls under the "Computer Programmer" category.)

Although I know one cannot pin all their hopes on a lottery I do desperately hope I might be one of the lucky ones; I have friends in California and a job I could walk into over there.

I am starting a degree next year (just a BA, doing it over 18 months rather than two years by doing double course load) so I will have a back up option with the H1B, although the DV lottery would mean not waiting 10 plus years for a GC through EB3, so obviously that's preferable.

Anyway, I just wanted to introduce myself and share a little info - I already know a lot about many of you from your posts over the last 6 months so felt it was fair you knew a bit about me.

Wench :)

Hi!

Hi Wench,

Welcome to the forums! I'm also a first time entrant from Australia. Having lived in CA previously (hubby's a Canadian who had worked there the last 14 years) it's certainly an interesting place to live, and the chance to go back is too good to pass up.

I spent many hours reading through the Aussie's posts about their journeys, both those that got through and those who did not. There is no such thing as not enough info, or optimism.

Have a good one!

Thanks - am nervously counting the days!

Me too!

I guess it will be May 2nd for us? Too soon to be working out the time difference etc.

Hmmm..that makes me sound very keen lol

I wish to two things really; a number, and not too low!
