Long Leave of Absence on H1B

Hi,

Can I take a long leave of absence on H1B visa e.g. 6 months to 1 Year?
My company policy allows Leave of Absence to employees for valid reasons.
However, I am not sure if this policy can be applied to an H1B employee or
not.

There should be common policy for all employees, check with HR

The company policy will not be so different just because you are on H1, they cannot discriminate. You should try to ask your freinds if they know any H1 who was on extended leave and has any INS issues.

I think my compnay will not have any problems in giving me leave of absence provided INS allows H1b visa holders to take leave of absence, and that is what my question is. Whether INS allows Long Leave of absence and if so can I contiue my Green Card process with
the company?

Long leave of Absence

Hi All,
Is that a problem at the port of entry if I can take off for more than 6months in India. Am in H1B with valid visa. My employer has no issues. Please let me know.

If you plan to stay outside of he U.S. then your employer is not obligated to pay you ... so there is no issues as long as your employer agrees
