Logic Of Dv Lottery

Hello Can any one explain the logic behind this Dv Issues

Date of applicant does not determine your success or case number.

Case number does not determine time of receiving NL

Case number does not determine date of interview provided you are current.

case number determines the date of the interview in the sense that you cannot interview until your case number is current. Once all of the numbers in your category are current, it's "first sent, first interview" kind of line.

As far as I understand, NLs are sent out based on the region, not Case numbers.

Fifo?

"yes first sent first Interview".

Is the lottery selection done at once or is it played cuncurrently as applicant brings in their aplications.?

First Applied first selected, Rank number issued, sent out to onwers..

first in first out (FIFO)

I do believe it's done once, after all of the applications have been received. But then, I don't work for KCC.

your answer ,na wah
anyway the only thing is what u have said, once u are current for a month, u will be scheduled interviewed that month.

only people that work with kcc can quote the correct routine and analysis

not necessarily. Our number was current in March, and our interview was in April.

yeah, i said that a while ago. because ur number is current dosen't mean ur interview will be that month. The number being current means that there's an immigrant visa available for you but KCC will try to schedule ur interview around the busy schedule of the U.S embassy in your country.

but why?

Just why will KCC schedule the interview around the busy time?

KCC simply administers DV and interview dates are totally dependant on Consular or Immigration office (for AOS applicants) work load. Once your case number is published on the visa bulletin you can apply for the second stage (greencard) how the consulate or USCIS office schedules the interviews depends on that particular office.

1 to 4700 = October

If Immigrant Visa = Available then Number Current

If Number N < = 4700 then Current

Interview

Otherwise No interview

Can you Analise your Idea?

I was just wondering the logic...

wondering the logic behind the allocation of cuff of number to various Countries
Am sure no body has done his or her interview yet, could it be that the numbers in October will be treated faster or is it that not all number that is current will make it for the interview?
I mean why cant they allow the progression to be constant or if there is any difference, it can be little?
why the reductions in number for November? wont they be able to finish October current numbers before November's Numbers start.
I was just wondering the Logic behind that..

I don't think so

it is more advantageous to get your form filled by a legal practitioner?
The questions are straight-forward and easy to answer if you don't have any issues [criminal back-ground, deportation, over-stayed visa , etc].
With a clean case, you will waste money for a lawyer to fill forms. Afterall you will be providing the lawyer with the information to be filled in the form.
If you have any issues, I doubt if a lawyer will be able to help you, especially if you are outside the US.

With ur name, am assuming ur Nigerian. I know so many attorney's in Nigeria who think they know about u.s immigration laws and they have absolutely no idea. My friends attorney in Nigeria was going to sue the U.S embassy cuz they refused his client a student visa. what a retard.LOL
Anyway, u don't need a lawyer to fill out the forms for you unless u have something else going on like overstayed ur visa and stuff.

Can someone explain the terms to me please, I'm new

So I'm going to make a real daft and stupid question, but I'm sorry, i'm new and someone has to explain this stuff to me.

I have applied for DV 2008, and I got no reply. I read the instructions and since I got no reply by mail, I was not a winner. I'm going to apply again for Dv 2009.

1) What do the abbreviations you use on this forum mean? Such as NL, AOS etc?

2) What's the deal with Numbers becoming current, cut off dates etc? I mean the instructions say that if you receive a letter from KCC, you are a winner. What happens next. I managed to figure out that you have to send some papers to KCC and then you get an interview scheduled in your country. What's it with cutoffs and numbers though?

3) What do the numbers in the bulletin mean? Such as 9200 for europe?

Help please, thanks

Fred

it would be hard to explain most of these to ya cuz u haven't seen a notification letter (NL) before and don't actually have any idea as to how the numbers are assigned. Try again this yr and hopefully, u'll win and i'll be more than happy to explain all that to ya. Actually, u'll figure it out when u win. Thats the way i learnt.
