Logic behind generating second FP notices...

I posted this in the wrong forum, so I am copying and pasting it in this one.

Got my second FP notice few days back.
Finally got some hope.

My question is:

I am not sure if the FP notices are generated by the computer automatically or an adjudicator goes through our files and generated FP notices for those whoes FPs have expired, and they feel that their case is ready to be adjudicated?

Any suggestions? The reason I think that they are generated by the computer automatically is because my last update date has not changed yet and online message is same since day 1. Then again my last update date is stuck on 1/6/2003 and i had my first FP in 2/6/2003 and the last update date didn't reflect that either.

I think that 2nd FP notice is a definite good sign, though it appears that the gap between 2nd FP and adjucation depends on whether you get RFEs or not. Have you seen the tracker here yet?:

It gives you an idea... I'm hopeful that AD will be before the end of this year. 2nd FP notice two days ago; scheduled for 8/14.
