Logic Behind Changes in LUD

I completed my fingerprinting on 12/16/2004. I got an email from USCIS on 12/21/04 stating that

"On December 20, 2004, the results of your fingerprint review for your I485 Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status were received, and processing has resumed on your case. We will mail you a notice if further action is needed, or when a decision is made.".

When I checked the status online, the LUD has been changed to 12/21/04 along with the new status and when I checked the status yesterday the LUD has been changed to 12/23/04 and the status message remain the same.

Is there any reason why the LUD has been changed twice during the last week. The LUD on I-140 has never been changed since Notice Date.
