Lodon CP thread

London

Apparently P3s from March have not been processed yet. This is frustrating!!! They did not explain what the delay is due to. Their email is londonconsular@state.gov Please let us know if you have any luck. Not sure when the next batch of interviews will be.

back log at the consulate

Yes, I can confirm your experience.

I have now had an e-mail from the embassy. Apparently
my P3, which they probably received by the beginning of March,
has only just been recorded on their computer. They will
now apply for a visa number after some administrative
procedure, what ever that is. So I guess the interview will probably
be in June now. That would make the whole process from
approval of I140 to interview about 6 month, which is
on the long side.

CP

I got an email too. It appears an interview will be scheduled for June like yourself. So we are on our way. I\'ll updated should I get any more info. Please do too...

visa number

I got another e-mail reply from the consulate,
the visa number will be requested NEXT MONTH
and interview is likely in July!!!

This is really taking a looooooooog time.

Any news from you?

Finally joining the forum

Hi,
I just got my I140 approved, and hope to send AC140 to LOndon. Could any london cpers confirm that London accepts it and also, what they sent. I think all of Packet 3....DS 230 part 1, I140 approval, and petition. Have I forgotten anything.

Thank you in advance. great thread.

Ac I140 is accepted in London

Just got an email back from London, confirming they process ACI140 cases. I have all the relevant documents and plan to sent it out tomorrow. The email also said the process takes approx. 4 months, so an August interview is possible.

Johnblake,jam007808181,gglover, and Liverpool ....have any of you heard anything about your interviews?

bringing the thread up.

Good for you.

It could be 5 months. Hopefully
you are luckier than I am. If my interview is in july, then
from submitted P3 to interview it would be 5 months.

I do not expect to hear from the embassy till June.

Yes, please lets keep it up.

The last I heard was that the interview should be in June. I am not sure why it\'s taking so as there do not seem to be as many of us as say India.

just bringing the thread up.......................no news I guess from London

My Packet 3 was delivered on Tuesday at London.
Hope someone hears something soon.

Well done!

Well done, Liverpool!

I am still waiting for mine interview, I have just got
an e-mail telling me that it will be in late
July. But I am still waiting for the formal appointment letter.
When did you get your appointment letter?

What documents are asked other than what is listed in P4?
(e.g., other than passport, I134, employment letter, DS230-II,
police certificate, birth certificate). Is tax return transcript
and tax form 9003 required? Did you get your photos done in London?

When you have a chance, could you write with a bit more
details of the process?

Congratulations!

CP London

Thanks John! I got the letter late May so be prepared to pay a lot of money for a flight because of the short notice. I got there at about 7:30am. A queue started to form quickly but there were only 6 or 7 of us. We went in promptly at 8am and were told to be seated. I was called after about 10 mins and asked for the docs which included:

Passport
Birth Cert. (Orig. and copy)
Notorized employment letter
Form 9003
Police Cert. (Orig. and copy)
i-934?
4 photos which I did in England. (The man trimmed them with scissors to get the right size).
2 forms parts I and II (I forget the name of the forms)
They did not ask for tax returns or paychecks.

This took about 2 mins and all the gentleman asked was what business my company was in. He was polite. Then I sat down. 10 mins later I was called again and told all the papers were in order and I should go to the doctors office about 15 mins walk away. This is were most of the time was spent. I waited in the office for a blood test and x-ray for about 1 hr. In total I was there for close to 2 hrs. Oh I forgot the man at the embassy said to return by 1pm as that was the time visas were issued. I left the doctors around 11:30 and went to eat. I returned to the embassy at 12:45 and took a seat. At about 1:10pm I was called and give the visa. WHAT A RELIEF! I entered the US at Newark, NJ where I waited in immigration for about 45 mins to be finger printed and have my passport stamped. It was nice going through the US citizen/PR line! Now I am just waiting for plastic card. The man at the airport said it would take around 3 months. I hope sooner. Thats about it. Just bring all the docs in the P4 and a good book to read. Any questions let me know and good luck!

Thanks Liverpool, a few Q\'s

Hi, Liverpool

Thanks for the description of the process. It always
helps to read about the process, it let us know what to expect.

A few questions. I am still waiting for my appointment
etc (P4) so some of the questions may be self-evident
once I get the P4.

1. Did you do you photos in London or US? How many
photos are needed at the consulate, and how many photos
at the doctors? I am wondering whether I should do
my photos in the US or do it in London,
as I have read stories about London
consulate requiring slightly different format for the
photos.

2. You mentioned forms part I and II, I guess you
are referring to DS230 (Application for Immigration Visa)? The
first part was sent to the consulate when apply
for the interview, the second
part you suppose to sign in front of the officer
during interview, right?

3. How long a period did you get between receiving the
appointment letter and the interview? My interview is
in due in 4 weeks, but I am still waiting for
the appointment letter.

4. You mentioned that Form 9003 is needed, was that form
sent to you with P4, or did you print it yourself?
were you also asked for your tax returns/transcripts, and
pay stubs?

Thanks again, keep us posted of your plastic card progress.
But officially you are already a permanent resident, so
relax and enjoy!

London CP experience

I finished my CP in London last week. Everything was
very smooth.

Did my photos in Passport Photos on Oxford Street
the day before (4 photos for about 5-6 pounds), took
10 minutes.

Went to the doctor 8 am on the day, door open at 8:00,
proceed to the sitting room at the
back of the building, each one is
given a folder to place passport, medical form, and any
medical records, plus one photo (out of your 4, the
consulate will need 3). Called later to pay (credit card
accepted), then waited a long time till called to go down to the
basement, had blood taken, then more wait,
did X-ray, then see the doctor which measures the
blood pressure and review medical records to decide whether
immunization is needed, finished medical about 11:00am.

I then went to the consulate which is about 10 minutes
walk from the medical clinic. Handed in the DS230-part II
(signed in front of the officer), waited, then called to
hand in other documents (as listed in the appointment letter,
e.g., Birth certificates, police certificates, employment letter,
I134 if you have family), no other documents are required
(e..g, tax return were not asked). Interviewed
by an officer later. Asked where I work and what I do,
no other questions.

Asked to return at 1:00pm. Back at 1:00 pm after lunch,
waited about 1/2 hours, given the brown envelope with a
sheet stapled on the front with my personnel details. Asked
to take it with me on the port of entry.

POE is also smooth. Went to the citizen/resident lane,
shown the officer the envelope. Led to
an office by another officer who open the envelope there
and checked the documents, then took my figner print
(this took a few attempts), stamped the
passport with a 1 year greencard stamp. Told that
the card itself will arrive in 4-6 month, given a form
that I can use in case the greencard does not arrive.
The whole process took about 20 minutes.

That is it, the whole process is smooth although the
wait can be irritating.

Good to hear that its all over......
I too have returned from London with my greencard stamp.
The interview went just as everyone said. The interview was on 08/08/02.
I will sign in for the next few weeks, if anyone has any questions, otherwise good luck to all.
