Hi,
I am on H1B and in 3rd yr of FP residency.My husband has filed for GC and our lawyer says we will get EAD by end of next year.I am graduating in June.Is it possible to get H1B for a job till I get my EAD?
Also, Is it possible to do .8fte work on H1B?

>>> Yes. find a job that will sponsor your H1B. (file this new H1B for 3 years. that way you be saved the trouble of getting multiple extensions for your H1B).

.8fte means .8 of fulltime work = part time work.

fte stands for full time equivalent. There is no problem with part time work on H-1B .( I have done it)
 
H period

When I finish my residency in June, I will have finished 5.5 yrs on H visa-i.e 2.5 yrs on H4 and 3 yrs on H1.Can I get another H1 for a year?Someody told me that you can only have a total H period of 6 yrs only.

H visa is for 6 yrs (H1+H4) total

you will get only 0.5 years.
