Local USCIS office doesn't issue Advanced parole

My I-485 application has been pending at VSC. My current AP and EAD expires in February,2004. Due to backlogs at USCIS, I don't expect VSC to approve my I-485 before February,2004.So, I applied for EAD and AP renewal in the month of October 2003. Since my AP has been pending for more than 60 days and also I'm planning to travel shortly, I planned to visit local CIS to obtain emergency AP.
Today morning, I went to local CIS office. I showed my AP application receipt, I-485 receipt and Air ticket to the front desk representative and explained that I need Advanced travel document.I was informed by her that I can get AP only from VSC not from local office and they issue only interim EAD and regular EAD, she continued that if I've any emergency to travel then I've to send a expedite request to VSC.I asked her whether I can apply for new AP at local office instead of emergency AP, she replied that they will return the application since I've to apply only at service center.
Please plan your travel well ahead of time, project how AP/EAD backlog will grow and apply accordingly.

Boston USCIS office doesn't issue Advanced parole

Hi

Samething happened to me also. My mother was sick 3 months ago and I have applied for AP in september (RD: 9/20) and so far I did not receive any approval. Now I got a emergency FAX about my mother and I went to the Boston Office and the lady did not accept for the emergency AP. She asked me to send a FAX to VSC for expedite process for Emergency travel. I sent a FAX to VSC and I don't know how long I need to wait again.

AP

Guys,

Even the AP process is not working now. Travel, I guess is not a right that we can have.

You can complain to the Travel Industry Association of America. They do talk to Congress and have their own lobbyist for that matter.

Hmmm.... we can't can't change jobs for more money, can't get driver's licenses, can't go home to visit sick relatives, can't get on an airplane without being humiliated

... and we can't sue BCIS

The sad story is that Democrats are no better either, unless you are an illegal alien, or "undocumented worker" as the politically correct term is ...

My AP has been pending since august 1st 2003. I wanted to go to India in december this applied for my AP/EAD renewal in august itself.

BUt no luck yet. Luckily, my EAD was approved but online message was never updated. Is anyone in the same category who has been waiting since august or before for their AP or AP renewal?

Thanks,

I guess that many local offices used to give emergency AP till recently. Am i right here ? Did they change the policy or is each local center behaving in its own way ?

It's horrible that they haven't approved a AP for 5 months for " opticalguy_sfo". This point can be used in our lawsuit.

same thing for me

that could not give the AP at local office. " sorry, there is nothing i could do" at least the officer is really nice...

the AP/EAD dealy is nonsense

basically, if you have an valid pending case then you should get it. i don't think this one need extensive check through the FBI/CIA as the AOS. so if it just the background check and verify the case, they should be done by the time " make a spot of coffee" (from the latest director's speech http://www.immigration.com/frame/pepremarkonguardinglibertyfr.html )

the officer who log in the case could approve it right on the spot, that's what they do if you file at local office.

now why the heck it has to sit somewhere for 3-5 months is just another "right amonut of time" statement from CIS

When did u apply for EAD and when was it approved?

Also, was atleast the phone message updated w/ EAD approval?

Folks,

My case is similar. But as my AP is still not approved still, I was planning to goto INS Newark for AP. Now it seems very unlikely they would oblige.

What are the alternatives? please suggest.

Regards,

My EAD's ND was august 4th and was approved on November 15. I applied to the VSC, but they sent me a letter saying I should go to a local service center. I went there and they gave me an EAD.

My Ap renewal has the ND of aug1 but still no luck :-( Not sure whats happening with INS.

I just called BCIS on my AP case.

The girl on the line was very polite, but it was clear she can't do anything.
She basically told me to delay the trip until the document arrives, and that there is nothing I can do about it. No local office will issue an AP.
Also, because my case was filled after the "current" processing date (Set 11, 2003, my I-131 was filled on Set 23)), she can't even ask for a Status Inquire with VSC.

Then I asked about my I-485, but her computer went down, and she told me to call again later.

Absolutely. Which is why the word "Libertarian" should become part of your vocabulary. They are the only party that has a sensible attitude towards employment-based immigration.

Libertarians have no representation in the Congress or Senate, but that does not necessarily exclude them from my vocabulary or anybody else's.
Consider them as another friendly "think tank".
Too liberal to push anything under the current times.
