local senator's office?

Does any one know how to contact the local senator? I'm in San Jose. I don't even know who he/she is.

Here is my story:

I just had a big fight with my employer. He threatened once again to fire me. I work for him almost 7 years, and cannot stand no more. My PD is Feb, 1997 and ND 12/14/01 for I-485.

There are two things I would like to try:
1) push gc approval through my local senator
2) find a new job so I can dump my current employer

Any insight about my situation? Your reply will be very much appreciated.

Whats happening with your 485 processing? did you get an RFE ?
From the tone of your posting it appears that your employer might have threatened you before also...so he may be a barking dog, not the biting type. In case looking out for a suitable opportunity is harmless. My 2c.

you have managed to hang around for 7 years, whats a few more months? I remember how we used to wait for fresher' day during my freshman time. I would just think about how I would handle the same "seniors" after. Somehow I feel that it applies here too. I have some problems at work, but docile is the way to be for now.

good luck...

Good luck to you too, Neeru.

I know it sounded insane, but...

My laobr certificate cost me 4 painful years. I didn't know there were options one could have tried, other than simply waiting. Not until I came to this broad a month ago, and learned how you guys have taken care of your own case. I blamed myself hard ever since.

I just found the web site of Senator John Vasconcellos and his office:
100 Paseo de San Antonio, Suite 209
San Jose, CA 95113
(408) 286-8318
Fax (408) 286-2338

Is he the right person I should go for? Is there any harm by doing so? Please advise. Thank you.

Your case is newer than the JIT date for I-485. It is unlikely you can speed it up by external means. From this board one can observe that INS has not started with Dec 2001 cases yet.

California has 2 senators viz. Diane Fienstein and Barbara Boxer in the US Senate. The Name you mentioned is a state senator. Remember INS is a Federal Agency and not a State Agency. you might want to contact Sen. Diane Fienstien or Sen. Barbara Boxer.

Thank you, Codex and 485ca.

I found the contact info of Barbara Boxer. I'll ask them to look into my PD (02/1997) and have pity on it. Also, I have sent out some resumes, and will keep looking for a better job.

No matter what result it will be, at least I tried.
