Based on 5 years category (not marriage category)

1) Interview Appointment Letter
2) Green Card
3) Valid Passport
4) Driver License
5) Bills where address is shown
6) Marriage certificate or divorce decree
7) Tax transcripts or Tax Returns - Last 5 years?
8) Certified driving records

Is that all?

Should I bring?
1) old passports (expired passports where F1 & H1 visas and green card stamp were stamped)?
2) Birth certificate?
3) SS Letter for only males who were under 26 and were on only immigrant visas. (not required for H1 holder or F1 holder or anyone who is above 26).

For marriage category (3 years),

Same thing as above, but photos of wedding, joint bank statements, mortgage/lease paper and 3 years tax transcripts are needed. Marriage certifciate is must.

It would be helpful for applicants who prepare for interview.

From the first group I would say 1 through 4, from the second group 1 and perhaps the SS card. I am not too sure about marriage cases. Tax transcripts, DMV records and marriage certificates are rarely if ever asked for at interview. Perhaps bills are needed if there is any doubt of residence, but if your drivers license matches your current address and you've been there for a while I don't see much need for the bills. Anyway, bottom line is that it doesn't hurt to take extra documents. I took a gamble and didn't collect anything, and nothing was asked for me as extra documents, so my bet worked. Well, it is not strictly a bet, I took all the documents indicated in the interview letter, it is us that by reading this forum we go the extra mile.

Items in 5-8 are not usually asked, but are proof to validate our entry in N400 So nothing wrong in taking them. Better safe.

Birth Certificate

They asked for my Birth Certificate. I only had a copy of it, the officer took a copy of BC to put them in my file. Its better you take them all.

But I noticed one funny thing in the DO office during the interview. Only (desi's) were carrying BIG folder for the interview. Everyone else walked in with PP and Green Card.

But it matters if they ask for a document and you dont have it with you. It might delay your process.

Lis of Docs I carried (suggested from the Forum):

1. Interview appointment letter
2. Passport (Old and New)
3. Green Card
4. Driver License or State Issued Non Driving ID
5. Tax returns for the last 5 yrs
6. Marriage certificate
7. Court's disposition on any arrest, charge, and citation (including traffic citations)
8. Social security card
9. Four Identical Colored Pictures
10. Birth Certificate
11. Employment letter or Pay Stubs
12. Documents to prove your residency in your State (Utility Bill)

Great list! To add to this, you may want to include a few additional documents regarding your spouse - birth certificate and social security card (I think it's rare, but I have heard of at least one IO who has asked for this). I would also be inclined to bring documents that prove your continuous residence / physical presence in the USA - mortgage statements / rent receipts etc. that prove that, even if you took trips outside the US, your intent was to remain a resident here.
