Just received word from Congressman's office that my I-485 has been approved and the dependents are expected to be approved in a day or two:)

Hello Dallas,

Congrats for the relief you got! Can you tell me which congressman you approached. I am also based in Dallas. Thanks.

Thank you all

I wish to thank all the friends in this forum who shared their knowledge and experience; offered comfort when we were frustrated with the processing delays.
Thanks to Rajiv Khanna for sponsoring this wonderful forum!
As the saying goes "No work can be considered complete till the paperwork is done":D
So I would say it is not over yet till we receive the approval notices and cards in hand for the entire family.

More good news from Congressman's office

Received more good news from Congressman's office that all my dependents have also been approved:)

Congrats Dallas. Enjoy the green.
By the way did you have any message change online?

Thanks 4evergc! My on line status still shows This case has been sent for a standard interview:)
After the transfer to local office in Nov 2004, I had a LUD in Feb 2005 without any change in the message and then a LUD on 05/23/2005 a day after FP3 again without change in the message. Somewhere in between the message dropped the reference "It may take several months for the local office to schedule the interview" and added a current status caption:)

Congrats Dallas.

Hope I hear something from Charlotte office soon :(:(

Don't know whatelse they want???
Thanks GC-4-All! You will get there soon. In my case Service Request of May 15 moved the case file to the reviewing officer on May 17. Couple of Infopass visits for follow up, Congressional enquiry, Reporting the case problem to CIS Ombudsman - I do not know which one of these expedited the review:)
Have you tried Congressinal enquiry or sent your case problem to CIS Ombudsman?

Hi Dallas,

Per your advice, I contacted my local congressman and he responded saying he contacted the proper officials and asked for a report about my case. Let's see how it goes...
Thanks for the tip.

To laugh or to cry????

Visited Dallas Field Office today to check when the approval notice will be mailed. The person issuing the tokens said "You are not likely to get an accurate update if it is an EB case".
Was shocked when the I.O said "Our records indicate a file is with an adjudication officer from 5/17/07. This case shows to be under extended review. Please allow 90 to 120 days for another notice of action" She also apologetically mentioned that the officers are very busy in conducting interviews and do not have time to review the cases:mad:
When I mentioned my 4th EAD is expiring tomorrow and asked whether anything can be done to expedite the 5th EAD (applied 70 days ago), she said "We can't do anything since it is not over 90 days yet".

I contacted the immigration liasion at my Congressman's office. She responded with an email "I sent an inquiry to the Immigration Representative who gave me the information that these petitions have been approved. Since she checked on each one, I believe she is correct. I will let you know".

She called me after an hour and said "Your GC has been approved as indicated to you last week but the officer has not yet updated the system":)

Based on the reassurance from my Congressman's office, I presume our cases have been approved and continue to wait for the magic snail mail:)

My GC journey is a thriller full of twists and turns, shocks and surprises:rolleyes:
Hope it will have a happy ending soon;)

Dallas, I understand your situation. USCIS is in shambles, don't worry, Congressmen will have some inside information and usually they are very cautious in theri response. If he says, you are done, YOU ARE DONE.

This gives me a little hope as well cuz I also got the "additional review" crap in my last InfoPass appointment. Hopefully it's also approved. Anway, I have another InfoPass tomorrow. Let's see what happens. Stay tuned.. Good Luck

We all hope that there is light at the end of the tunnel for all of us. And that is not the headlight of another train.

5th EAD approved on July 3

Just now got an e-mail notifying the approval of my 5th EAD( Approval date:July 3; E-filed date: 19th April).
Could this mean the info from my Congressman's office that my I-485 was approved on June 20 is wrong or does it mean the left hand of USCIS (National Benefits Center) does not know what the right hand (Dallas district office) is doing
I am yet to receive any official communication from USCIS regarding my I-485approval!

Dallas, Approval of EAD does not mean that they have delayed adjudication of your I-485. You paid for the EAD for which they will have to approve. This should not impact your I-485 or does not imply delay in I-485. My 2 cents.
