Hi there...

Anyone tried to get the Licensure for Engineers, which is a 4 steps process ?

I am really in a need for information about the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam and if I am going to get a job after undergoing this exam.

Please help...

Thanx in advance..

FE Exam

The process is different for each state .It depends on the state you want to appear for the exam . The rules for the FE exam differ from state to state.
If you want to eventually become a PE of some state , then it is better to write the FE exam of that state.

Generally if you have completed your MS in engineering here in the US then you can apply for the examination easily. However if you have your Engineering from outside US the process is complicated and expensive.
These are couple of good websites that can help you.

Thank you for replying and cooperation. Have you completed your Engineering degreee inside the US or outside ? If I completed the FE exam, do I have the chance to get a job ?

FE Question

I assume you graduated recently from college . Most of the engineering firms (non- IT ) look for engineers with PE License . That will help them in registering as an engineering firms in many states . Also they need PE's to stamp their drawings . However FE is a First Step to get a PE license. I don't think having a FE license will give you big advantage in getting a job . My advice will be to look to engineering staffing firms like AEROTEK.COM or Thinkenergy.com .They normally help engineers in non IT Sectors.
