"Letter of Verification" of citizenship from USCIS

Hello everyone.
I have a question and need some suggestions. I am a US Citizen who was naturalized back in 2003. Since then, I moved like 8 times and in the process, have misplaced my Natz. certificate. I didn't think much of it since I have a US passport and used it to get in and out of country until a month ago when I applied for a job with the government.

Although I have a US passport, they are adamantly asking for the original of my natz. cert. or as an alternative, they are asking for a LETTER WITH NATURALIZATION INFO FROM USCIS WITH RAISED SEAL. I am wondering, can USCIS give out such letter, and how do I go about getting such letter?

I have an Infopass scheduled for this Wednesday.

Please help. Thanks.

Fill out and submit form N-565 to replace your lost naturalization certificate. As for the alternative, I'm guessing the that the raised seal letter is a "certified true copy" (certified by USCIS) of your original , but since you don't have the original your only option is to apply for a replacement.

It's funny that in a few days this is the second report of a lost certificate. If people realized the cost to replace them they probably would take better care of them. The cost is both monetary and in time. I don't know about that letter of verification of citizenship, it might exist as I have seen it mentioned in some government archives site, but I don't know what form or how to obtain it. Hopefully someone knows or you can find at the USCIS customer service number.

Sorry to bring back an old thread, but has anyone ever been able to get something like this letter at a local USCIS office? A family member lost their naturalization certificate. We were told we can get an official letter stating that my family member is a real person and a U.S. naturalized citizen. Does anyone know?
