Folks,
Can anyone in this forum give me a little explanation or perhaps a link to information regarding the format of the "Letter of Employment" required to file for I-485? I have an approved I-140 EB1-EA from TSC.
My concern is the word post-doctorate (temporary/permanent). Can it be mentioned in the letter? Should this letter prepared by the Human Resource of our university? or a letter from my current boss would be sufficient?

Thanks for the info,

You might be referring to this in the instructions: "you must submit a letter on the letterhead of the petitioning employer which confirms that the job on which the visa petition is based is still available to you."

Remember that the EB1-EA, by its own definition, is a self-petition so it does not require a letter of employment because the petitioner (assuming it was your institution) wasn't actually "sponsoring" you for a job. In other words, EB1-EA (like EB2-NIW) do not actually require that you have a job sponsor and therefore your immigrant petition is not based on an employer petitioning for a particular job (even if that was the intent).

However, it is a very good idea to include a letter that you are employed and receiving income. For that purpose, a letter from the human resources department, or your own department's personnel office that states that you are employed full time, in good standing as a "scientist/researcher/research scientist/etc (not post-doc)", and includes your annual salary, should be sufficient.

I also would like to submitt EB1-EA online. Could you tell how does it works?
Yoiu submitted the cover letter online?
How did you submitted the supporting documents?
You send by post?
