letter: H1 extension denied. website: H1 extension approved

Got a letter a few days ago saying that my 8th year extension got denied. But if I go to uscis.gov and enter my case number, it says it's approved. This is odd, I don't know what to believe.

The attorneys are working to figure it out, but meanwhile can someone comment on this situation?
 
Are you sure that online status is for the latest extension ?
i wouldn't trust online status.. Let attorney handle the case.
 
I'm pretty sure. Actually, on the website I entered the case number from the letter itself - the letter that said the case was denied. The decision date on the website is one day after the date on the letter.
Could they change their mind like that?
 
I Don't know.
But it is well known that online status is so inconsistent.
As long as you are eligible to 8th year, nothing to worry about such a glitch.
 
H-1 6 Years Expiring

I thought you can just only extent H1B for 6 years. How did you accomplish to extend 8 years. Please let me know? good luck with your case.
