received a letter today from the White House, looks generic but maybe an inquiry intiated by the White House on my behalf might work.

letter is as follows...

Dear My Name

Thank you for contacting President George W. Bush for assistance with an agency of the Federal Government. I am responding on behalf of the President.

The White House is sending your inquiry to the Department of Homeland Security, which will review your correspondence. This agency has the expertise to address your concerns. They will respond directly to you, as promptly as possible.

The president sends his best wishes.

Sincerely

Desiree Thompson
Special Assistant to the President
and Director of Presidential Correspondence

This was in response to a fax I sent him in Oct as well as Christopher Cox, who inquired twice on my behalf and BCIS basically told him to get lost.

Well yes and no.

Yes, I asked them to inquire and see if they could expedite my case.

No, as it was much more, detailing my background, my situation and seeking if they could intervene.

So it was much more than a generic case inquiry.

Hope something positive works out for you soon, though this is the first time I am hearing somebody contact the P's office regarding a pending 485.

Try the senator's in your state too. Two of my friends had a very postive and quick response+ approvals after they contacted their Sentaors' offices.l

Thanks,

Actually, I sent the fax to Feinstein an Boxer and received nothing back.

I found Cox to be very proactive however he was stifled by BCIS.

Congratulations, now you are on the list of the Secret service, your fax has probably been analyzed by phsycologists to see if you are a thread to the President and the next time the President visits your city, they will go over your fax again and make sure you din't seem too hostile! :)

Well I hope this works for you and you receive your approval soon. Hopefully we will all be freed from this quagmire in the near future.

Good luck!

your wac# please?
Also, is it advisable to contact senators even if the ND date is 3 months beyond JIT? Mine is 02-129. Marc02 case. Or do they just send a reply saying that I have to wait until JIT moves to march.

mango_pickle,

If you fight for yourself only then, that is the answer you will get. Refer to the JIT, when the JIT moves your case will be approved.

If you really want to do something, you have to fight for the cause, which is speedy resolution of cases. In which case your case has to be looked at since it has been pending for ever.

It is just the way you phrase your Fax/Letter that gets your results. From my conversation with Anna Eshoo, she mentioned that the Congressmen/women are duty bound to reply to every fax/letter. Just what that reply will say is up to your question.

Good luck!

Tried this path almost an year ago. At that time I sent a petition from the TSC folks asking if the president could help us in addressing the backlogs and that TSC is suffering severely.

First I got a reply saying that they are forwarding the message to the DOJ (at that time). From the DOJ I got a letter saying that they could not find my alien number or other information (remember I had asked them to help all the TSC folks and not my case) so they cannot give a case status to me. End of story.
