Letter from Selective Service Question

Hi all,
I am about to send my N-400 application, but I don't know how to deal with
Selective Service question.
My question is do I have to send "Status Information Letter" from Selective Service with N-400 or bring it with me to the interview?
In the N-400 it says that if I did not register I had to attach statement explaining why, BUT on the USCIS web site

http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/us...nnel=11616c854523d010VgnVCM10000048f3d6a1RCRD

it says " If you did not register with the Selective Service and you (1) are male, (2) are 26 years old or older, and (3) lived in the United States in a status other than as a lawful nonimmigrant between the ages of 18 and 26, send: A "Status Information Letter" from the Selective Service "
So do I have to send letter or statement?

What is confusing you? Did you live in the United States in a status other than as a lawful nonimmigrant between the ages of 18 and 26? If not, you don't need the letter.

OK, thank you for your answers.
Yes, I guess, I was required to register, but I found out about that only when I started preparing documents for naturalization. I am now 32 years old and Selective Service never contacted me for registration. I called Selective Service and requested Status Information Letter, but it did not arrived yet.
Confusing to me was that statement from USCIS web site, it clearly states that I have to send Status Information Letter with N-400 application.

You must not have heard of the USCIS moto:

"Welcome to the confusing world of USICS where we strive for inconsistencies and inconveniences"
