Question on AP

The Advance Parole application says it is issued only for emergency. Is this really true, if you have filed I485? Can you use AP just to visit home country? Please share your thoughts on this.

AP Approved on 10/23, for myself and for my spouse. Received it on 10/25/01. Also received my EAD a while back. Hope it\'s helpful.
