hey friends...can we start a new campaign to deliver our message to cis director to increase the validity of RTD.we can give some good arguments in our favour e.g.
a) it will reduce the workload on cis.
b) it will benefit asylees for so many reasons.
c) finacially it can benefit cis if they increase the fee for this purpose.
d) it will be easy to maintain travel records.
etc. etc.
so we need a volunteer to give this a technical shape so we can send our message to the director through AILA or ....you know what i mean.
 
Did that. I wrote a letter to the Director asking him to consider increasing the validity of the RTD.

I said in my letter that under the current 5-6 months processing time for RTDs, I have only 6 months in a year that I can travel, since I have to send in my RTD to apply a new one. This is hard for me since my job requires me to travel. No response whatsoever..

I suggest more people start requesting this; it's good for all of us.
 
I never sent old RTD to get a new one. If it's expired you don't have to surrender it unless required.
There is an argument for CIS not to extend the validity of RTD. They will get less money. Don't forget guys - it's all about money.
 
Yes like what ayyubov said, there is more to the story. Its not that they are not aware of BS to issue RTD in 6 months which can hardly be used for 8 months when it arrives. Its just that they want to "discourage" travel for Asylees and want more money.

Furthermore I doubt that only director of lincoln center can alone make a decision to extend the expiry of RTD. It has to be dealth at director level of CIS.
