Recently I read an article at
http://www.ilw.com/articles/2005,0822-Donnelly.shtm

I was very much impressed by this article and decided to contact the author to find out his view about the whole immigration bill.

Here is the email communication that transpired between us

AUTHOR REPLIED - Its not going to happen this year, next year...may be till spring 2007.
Politically, I just don't see that 1) there is a consensus in Congress

SHAKTI WROTE - I guess you are right....i dont understand the specifics of Democrats vs

I know the forum

With your permission, should i paste this email in some groups where I know

Hi Shakti,
I am with you .Let me know what needs to be done from my side

Thanks

I am waiting for atleast 50 people to pitch in....we can then collect 100 dollars from everybody and start this movement....All the money will be accounted for....people are generally sceptical about these things ....but let me assure you....just like dsatish, i would be accountable for this effort....

143 views and just 2 people have decided to pitch in....everybody wants a GC...no body wants to do something about it...anyway let me wait for more matured people to read this posting....people who are willing to spend some time and money for this effort

Shakti

Excellent effort. You are not talking but doing.I am with you.

Shakti Bhai,
Good effort. No question. What I would like to do is 1000's of immigrant go to Washington and tell your story to the Senator's, public and camera. I don't mind to pitch in to organise the walk with all legal permission if 1000's of people come. Also the intension of writing above statement is not to become leader. I would like to develop game plan with like minded people and everyone will be properly communicated of the game plan at proper time.
I don't know why people are afraid. We are not doing anything wrong. What we are doing is let the voice be heard, pathetic situation of the immigrant be brought in public, daily dealing of USCIS be known to public. When we march I am sure camera's will come. And once camera of big new agency come we did our job. Because I am sure they will follow up with someone in USCIS at later time and make some documentary. At least that will be our agenda. The march should have long term repacursion.
I believe in "Apna haath jaganath". Depending on someone to run business is very difficult. I hope you understand what I am trying to say.
This is my view. You may buy or not it upto you.

Let me tell you a very practical incidence - I just moved to GA. Went for driver license day before yesterday. One lady refused to issue the driver license. I requested to talk to he supervisor. When I started talking to the supervisor she asked me to give her approved I485 application. I said I don't have. Then she said I should get the I 485 approval no sooner I file my I485. I very gently said her that Madam the information you have is wrong. She got very very angry. She asked for my wife passport. I gave her. She saw and said her VISA has expired and her I94 is valid. How come? She got doubt. She immidiately called the USCIS and she had hotlilne number. Her intention for calling the USCIS was to get my wife deported. But I was laughing at her when she called USCIS. FYI - I have a pending AOS and I have used up 6 year of my H1-B. And I am on EAD.
After she was done talking to USCIS rep. and going no where. I told her to tell the USCIS officer that I have a pending I485. After that thing went cool and she realised she royally messed up in the beginning. Moral of all this is - She didn't know the fact.
So in our case also USCIS is playing with math to present their side of story wrongly to Senator. I think they said in their last presentation that they are reducing the backlog. But the fact is other way round. Technically they are right. Theoritacally they are wrong. You need to understand this country is full of BILL CLINTON. I think USCIS is not considering application with non current PD as backlogged application.
We should also play with math to tell the right story to the Senator.
I am sure in coming days USCIS will claim that they don't have backlogged application. But fact is they have million of backlogged application.
I think the best we all can do is go ourself to the Washington on one weekday. And march is mass with banner and no shouting slogan. Banner with lot of facts.

Count m in..

Shakthi,

I am with you. Thanks for the efforts and the time. Since 100 $ is a little bit more  , I think most of them are backing out. If it is some 20 or 30 bux, then you can see that lots will pitch in. Anyhow I am willing to share the burden.

Thanks
GB :)

Brij, I agree with your suggestion....i was also thinking of a march....infact I work very close to the white house....A march would have the maximum impact...but I guess not many people would come in....Why dont you start a separate thread and lets see how many people are willing to come to Washington....if people agree to that....i think that will have a bigger impact than the website stuff....but I was not sure if it would be easy to organize it....

I liked your idea of 10/10 march....start a thread and lets see how many people join in

Shakti

I put my thought in different thread but no incouraging response. So didn't not open a new thread. Thank you for your word. Bye.

Their is already a group started Check http://groups.yahoo.com/group/techworkers/

Shakthi ,

Thaks for taking the lead . I do see their is another thread which had asked users to become member of a group and they do have a conference call with Rajiv today to discuss the next step. We all have one target i.e remove retrogression and we should plan to work together and show our support. Let us all unite on this issue . I belive in "Unity is Strength"

Thanks everybody

me and my three friends have donated 5000 dollars to set up this effort. I had a lunch with the guy today and it looks promising. I will keep you all abreast with the situation.

Now I just require your help when things get started. We need to make our voices heard. And the more the number of people, the louder the voice will be.

I will let you know about the agenda in coming week.

Thanks everybody

JO BOLE SO NIHAAL..............SAT SRI AKAAL
