I had it all along that civic test is multiple answer choice to the questions (i.e you chose the correct answer and mark it on the paper ) until JoeF and ocworker from ( Santa Ana , California DO ) changed my whole equation to the subject. Very interesting though!!!!

It is therefore my strong believe that civic tests are conducted differently by different DOs.

Let's see who done the test using reading the question from a paper and answering it verbally and those of you who done it with a question list and multiple answers choice?

I don't think it has been a multiple choice test for a long time. I know someone who got naturalized decades ago and it was not multiple choice then.
 
In my case at Newark DO, the officer read out questions from Computer Screen and I answered verbally. No print out was given.
 
San Jose DO

In San Jose DO, he asked the questions from the computer screen and I had to answer. It was not multiple choice ...
 
San Jose, he read from computer & I had to answer verbally.

BTW - What is the big deal whether multiple choice or not, we aren't talking about GMAT/GRE, just simple 100 questions. If you flunk, read more and go again. Sorry.

hehe.. i agree with you. or someone tries to just memorize the questions and answers? they are not difficult at all.
