Boston_GC......the problem is that no other country in the world has the stuff.....not even 30% of what usa has...........i have seen a website where people from UK want to come to usa and do business.....and they are all repenting because of the current usa immigration system.

my friends are still coming to usa....because of more earning potential......cant help it....usa is still the best in the world...for average programmers

How about we do something illegal? Will we slip into the illegal category benefit from the new bill which will pass some day?

Another choice maybe sharpen our skills and try to apply job in google. If google wants us deadly, I guess we are safe in US without GC.
 
Here is a geat idea to become illegal:

Get a part time job on the weekend (pizza delivery, gas station etc) and work there 1 or 2 days a week in addition to your regular job. Make sure you receive official pmt via check. When you want to prove you are illegal show them paystubs and say that you worked outside the scope of your H1 and therefore violated the rules, hence out of status and illegal.
This way you will make some money too, get your mind away from this GC crap and earn your way to become an illegal.
 
How solid is AC21 ?

A year ago I had a chance to use AC21 to jump for a top notch offer and my lawyer advised to wait a little longer to see whether AC21 was solid. I am reconsidering now. Thanks Lord my wife is now working using EAD, therefore 60% of hassle has been eliminated there. I feel very sorry for those who did not get to I-485 stage yet.

The worst of this situation is the uncertainty. At least they could tell us that we would get our I-485 case processed in 2 years, we could plan better.
Based on press news, it seems that immigration bills may pass only by next year. The House already reassuared that any immigration bill containing amnesty is going to be killed by the house. Also the Sen. Santa Claus intention to raise H1B indefinitely + 290K+not counting spouses, etc will just add to the unrealistic cause and trigger more and more immigration reduction sentiment to this.
 
just make sure your old employer does revoke I140 and make sure you hire a good attorney, I am with Rajeev khana

I changed company twice so far using AC21
