hello there..

My concern is..My girlfriend is in Las Vegas now and she is married in our country (Philippines) w/ other guy for 3 yrs. and we are planning to marry in Las Vegas i wish..Her status/papers in US is still single it is okay for her status to marry again knowing that she's already married in our country?..i am now here in canada..

If it is a marriage registered by a civil authority or a court marriage then it will be illegal for her to get married before she gets a divorce.

USCIS routinely contacts Manila Embassy to check with the P.I. Civil Registrar for any known marriages. Divorce does not exist in the P.I. Annullments, voiding based on mental incompetence and other invalidations are few and far between and hard to obtain in the P.I.

I am not positive on all of the legal formalities of this, but your girlfriend must file for divorce and get the papers signed before she can get remarried. Hopefully you can make this a speedy process so that you guys can start a happy life together!
