Hie all
I have a question,I came to US in F1 visa.I got wed last year and was planning to convert to H4,but bfr that I got pregnant and had bad medical terms.I have letters from my hospital which made me to skip the semester.Without letting me know,the scholl had removed my name from sevis and now when I am planning for the F1 reinstatement.How long will it take for F1 reinstatement processing?Will it be wiser for me to convert to H4 or to carry on with the reinstatement?My school said that they will allow me to register for previous semester concurently to the one which i am attending now once my F1 is reinstated.The fees in my uni is way 2 high so by movng 2 H4,i can pay the instate fees,pls do kindly suggest. Can i apply for H4 now,then after gettin it approved,ask my school dean to put in my name for previous sevis or update it with H4 visa since the last date my name was removed from sevis?
pls do kindly advise as I do not hold much knowledge in this countries legal issues..

since you are out of status right now, you cannot change your status to any other. You will either have to reinstate and then change to H4, or leave the US and get H4 visa. Make sure you didn't accumulate any illegal presense.

Thank u so much for ur reply. a final curiousity..how long will it take for F1 reinstatement and why are they asking for my 1-94?am a bit confused on this

Need urgent consult

hie all
i know its ashame to say this but i was all in tears today.. i was never informed abt removing my name from sevis and when i told the secretary in ISO when I was pregnant ,she suggested me n taking less courses for the semester,now my new ISO director is saying that she doenst wnat to get me a letter of support and just gave me a i-20.pls help me.. am so confused on this..
is there anyway i can convince her..
i read an article in F1 reinstatement and they said that one can enroll to lower class credits than it is required if:
they were not properly guided by the advisors
they had problems with the courses and language
they had medical reasons


i didnt had any advisors whom told me abt the 12 credits compulsary ,since i never moved along with the studenst, was staying with my cousins whom were working here.I know it was my mistake as well since i never kept myself updated,,i alwaz occupied myself with the fees and classes and including my pregnancy and so on..Pls do consult me and need ur advise badly

i missd out apoint..the reason was the director is not getting me a letter since it has been more than 5 months since i was out of sttaus..i was not informed at all then how could i possibly know of it..i have no reasons to be illegal in us since i am planning to go back after my studies and this i smy final semester in school...pls do help me
 
since it has been more than 5 months, you cannot get reinstated, to the best of my knowledge. Sorry. You may want to get a lawyer, or go home and come back on F-1/H4 visa.
