Left job, returning to same employer within original TN expiry

I worked for a US employer under TN status for a year and then left to return to my home country for another work opportunity. The original TN had a three year length.

It's now a year since I left and will be returning to the same employer and job that I had the original TN with. Do I need to re apply for TN or can I use my original TN which has 1 year remaining?

I have also visited the US under a B2 for vacation after I initially left

It would be best to get a new petition, especially since you entered on B2 since then.
This would have the added benefit of extending your validity.

I have a similar question. Currently I have two TNs, one for employer A, other one for employer B. After joining employer B, I resigned employer A, however, the TN I94 for employer A is still valid for next 2 1/2 years and its in my possession.

For example, If I want to leave employer B and join employer A, later on, before expiration of the I94 of employer A - can I join employer A? without going to border and getting a new TN, use the existing valid TN I94 of employer A? I will get a limited (shortened) validity though, however, just checking to see if this is something possible

You could, since you are continuously maintaining TN status. There is no notification process for terminating TN. so unless you hand in the I-94, which you are not obliged to do since you are not ending your US stay, due to the other TN.

That is why the B2 status obtained by the original poster makes it more of a necessity to renew: he sould have handed in his I-94 once he left US, no longer working.

How does one hand in a i94? I thought this was all done digitally and employers dont have an obligation to report employees leaving

When you leave US either by plane or drive, and you are no longer in work status, you hand it in to the Cdn guard or the airline staff.

Not as common now with electronic I-94, but TNs have to print their I-94 to prove work status, unlike tourists.
