I've been writing for answers for the last few days and I've received a lot of helpful advice.
Just as I was ready to file I-485 and related forms, a pressing situation arose in my wife's homeland of Venezuela concerning close relatives. This may require her to travel back home.
I am a USC and she is here on a visitor's visa. Would she be penalized as far as returning to the USA at a later date?
She has an I-130 pending and I have a receipt number for the application.
I understand that if I had applied for the I-485 she would not be able to do so without the advance parole granted through an I-131.
The situation, as you can see, has changed dramatically...
What to do now?
