Leaving US without submitting the original I-94

Hi

I applied for extension of stay 2 months before the date I-94 expires
and sent my original I-94 with my application as a supportive document.
I received receipt notice from USCIS upon my application. The case
is still in pending state and has been 4 months since I applied.

However I will leave US in two weeks period. I dont know what to do.
Shall I request my original I-94 form back from USCIS or rather leave US
without submitting it?

I am anxious because I am planning to come back to US in one month after my
departure. So I am anxious about my situation.

Thanks

they are supposed to send you a new I-94 if the case is approved or the old I-94 if denied , in either case you should not leave the US unless they have made a decision on your case to aviod problems in reentering the US

i assume you made a copy of your original i-94?! you dont need to wait for approval or denial if you really have to go back home. you can always abandon your application. just surrender the i-94 photocopy. when you decide to comeback in the U.S just make sure you have the receipt notice from uscis when you applied for extension. it will help you justify (if questioned at entry) why you were not able to submit original i-94.

Surrender a copy of the I-94 at check-in if you have on. In any case, make sure you keep your boarding pass as proof of when you left. USCIS will be able to trace you through airline manifests, but still, don't lose the boarding pass.

However I will leave US in two weeks period. I dont know what to do.
