Leaving this country for 3 years after getting green card.

I got my green card. I want to leave this country and work in India for 3 years. What should I do before I leave ?

The goal of this BCIS / US immigration is to make us worry all the time. When you are waiting for GC(when you are desperate to stay in this country), they will behave like you are not wanted here. Once you get GC, they behave like this country comes to a halt without you (exactly when you feel like running away from here). I know that given a chance many indian GC holders would like to go and work in india for a while (I would love to do that). Apply for RETURNING RESIDENT ALIEN PERMIT, as suggested by some one here.

Please note that this is for trips of less than a year. If you go to India for 3 years, kiss your permanent residency goodbye unless you actively maintain US residence as well as Indian.

Are there any special rules for GC holders, if they are posted abroad by a US employer. There must be some rule that permits a GC holder to work abroad if the US employer is relocating its employee.
