Leaving job after GC to join school b4 dependent's petition is approved.

I received my GC through my company last May (EB1). My wife's application is still pending and she has her interview in Sept.

1. Can quit my job and goto School in October?
2. If I quit my job before my wife gets her GC will it affect her processing?

I read somewhere in this portal (check out card ordered threads) that its better to work atleast 6 months after getting GC to be safe. I have no idea why? Please check with a lawyer or atleast go through the board.
