Leave of Absence while 485 pending

I might have to go back to my country for a month or two to take care of some health issues. Is is allowed to take a leave of absence from work with no pay to go for a couple of months to my country while my I485 is pending?

Of course. You can even take a leave of absence WITHIN the United States with no pay once the I-485 is filed.

why not?

its not necessary for AOS candidates to be physically
present in US while its being processed. GC is for future
employment.
