Hi! My LC just got approved. I need some advice on applying for 485.
I am from Sri Lanka, EB-2. So my dates have not retrogressed as yet. However, I am getting married in December and my wife will be in the US on H4 in January.
One option is to apply for my 485 now and apply for my wife's in January. The problem here is that what if the dates retrogress in January. The other problem is that what if my 485 is approved before Jan. Highly unlikely but is it even possible? In which case, it is a bad situation for my wife.
To prevent the option of being approved in a few months, I could intentionally leave out a document in my 485 application and then wait for an RFE. This will ensure that my 485 will not be approved in 3 months. Is this a recommended option? Or should I take the risk and send all documents now.
Any suggestions on -
1) Should I apply now or wait till Jan and apply with my wife?
2) Should I send the full application in now or intentionally leave out a document to guarantee my 485 won't be approved in 3 months.
I will apply in the Vermont center and processing dates are a long way off so I don't think my 485 will get approved before about a year. Comments?
