LC approved.. am I ready for I-140+485?

Hello all ; I just rced. a letter stating that my LC is approved/certified. Yeaahhh !
But I am confused.. about what next !. Since I am an Indian national.. would I have to wait for next 5 years more to file for my I-140+485? I couldnot find any answers anywhere. Pls advise me.
My details are in my sig. Pls help me. Thanks again

Congratulations.
You should get I-140 filed as soon as possible. On approval of I-140 you get a lock on the priority date. At present EB-3 for India is at April 1 2001 so you have to wait for filing I-485. How long is going to be your wait is a difficult question. At present your only option is file for I-140 and wait for approval.

So if I understood it correctly.. Go ahead and file for I-140. get it approved and whenever the status comes to active..file for I-485.
One more question though.. whats I-140 and what good it does to our GC process and what is I-485 + advantages of having it done? Sorry for this question...
