My I140 is approved but cannot apply for I485 as priority date is still not current. My company wants to transfer me to a new location (different city and state). My question is: Do I have to reapply for labor certification and I140 from new location, even though I still work with the same company. My lawyer said I will have to reapply for the whole process again since my LC was approved for my current city and so when I move to a new city, I have to reapply. Can any experts please help me with some advice. I will appreciate it very much. Thank you.

You no need to reapply your LC. You attorney is looking for more money (exploiting)from you.
The GC assumption is your future job, current H1 job/location etc does not matter for LC.
Whatever the company filed your LC/I 140, and the company is still doing business good , you can process your I 485 without any problem.
Your Present location , position or company (h1) does not matter to your LC/I140/I485.

Hi great guru, Thank you so much for your advice. I still have some confusion. My labor certification was filed and approved for a particular city. Now, the company is going to shut down that business location and so they are going to transfer me to a new location in a different state. Will that affect the green card process? My lawyer says it will invalidate both the LC and the I140 and we have to restart from scratch. Please do advice.
