My I-485 application was filed exactly a month ago. I still haven\'t received a receipt or an EAD card yet. My company is going through a merger and layoffs are expected. Currently working for the company
on my second H-1.
Am I dead in the water if I get laid off? I don\'t understand all the
acronyms used on this list, but here\'s my history:
LCA/RIR filed on 10/2/98 and a approved six months later.
I-140 (Skilled Worker) was filed on 6/24/99 and approved on 11/22/00.
My I-485, EAD, etc... was filed on 1/8/01, but as mentioned, no
receipt yet.
Thanks for any help you may provide. I\'m sure this is not that
unusual of a situation these days.
